Church and State is an organization that defends the
First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and advocates for separation of
church and state. The national organization of
Americans United is based in
Washington and addresses the nation, the U.S. Congress, the Federal Courts,
and national media organizations. The national organization
publishes the monthly Church-State

when necessary, litigates to preserve First Amendment liberties and
safeguards.
The Oklahoma Chapter of Americans United is based in Oklahoma
City and addresses Oklahoma communities, the Oklahoma State Legislature, the
Oklahoma Courts, and local media organizations. We publish the semi-annual
First Amendment Advocate, mobilize activists to
support church/state separation, and, when necessary, work with the national
